We have had a great FIRST week of the Build Season! This year, more of a dedication has been put to reading and understanding the rules, determining a strategy, and working with Computer Aided Design. Below are updates on what each sub-team has accomplished this week.
- Programming - Our programming team is working to get the fundamental code for the general operations of a robot. This includes visual abilities such as 'seeing' reflective tape. This will be absolutely necessary later in the season.
- CAD - The CAD team has been working on putting together the chassis within Inventor Pro. By doing this, a robot will be able to be designed and tested on the computer. This will help us to get a better understanding of the bot before it is actually constructed.
- Build - The build team is working to construct the chassis. They are also working to determine the best robot design.
- Media, Outreach, and Strategy - The Media and Outreach team has worked this week on reading the rules multiple times so that the team has a resource for questions concerning the rules. These members have also spent time working on game ideas. Questions asked include: How can we gain the most points? What is a possible and plausible game strategy?
It is imperative that all members understand the ideas and rules of the game. The game rules can be found at https://www.2838eaglebots.org/filehost/2016-Manual.pdf
